How to send payment confirmation and receipts via email?
What are payment confirmation emails?
When a customer pays you online, through a payment link, invoice, subscription, or an online checkout (using Payment Gateway or Ecommerce plugin), Revolut can automatically send them a branded email receipt with their transaction details and a link to a hosted receipt page.
How to enable automatic payment confirmation emails?
- Click your profile in the top right corner, then 'Settings' > 'Merchant' > Customer emails
- Toggle Automatic email receipts on or off
When enabled, receipts are sent to the email address your customer provided at checkout. If no email was captured, no automatic email will be sent — but you can still share a receipt manually from the order details later.
Replies to confirmation emails are not delivered to your email address.
What's included in the confirmation email?
- Payment reference
- Your business trading name
- Payment amount and currency
- Payment method (e.g., Visa ending in 1234)
- Payment date and time
- Link to the hosted receipt page
The hosted receipt page can be customised to match your brand. Learn more in our guide to branding payment links and checkout pages.
How to manually share a receipt?
You can share a receipt for any order from 'Orders', regardless of whether automatic emails are on:
- Copy link — copies a direct link to the hosted receipt page
- Share via email — sends the receipt to an email address you specify
This works for all order types, including in-person payments. For in-person payments, receipts are not sent automatically because a paper receipt can be printed on the spot or shared via email to the customer on the spot.
