This product is only available to Titan members. Learn more about Titan.

Eligibility criteria for car hire excess protection

Along with the conditions set out in the travel insurance policy wording, the following criteria must be met to be covered for car hire excess protection:

  • Your name must be on the rental agreement, and it must be signed by yourself
  • You must take reasonable care to protect the rental car and avoid an accident or collision which may cause damage
  • You must have purchased at least the most basic Collision Damage Waiver coverage offered by the rental company
  • Your Titan membership must have become effective prior to the start of the rental car agreement
  • You don’t have to use your Revolut Business account to pay for the car rental to be eligible for cover, unless it is your primary method of transport to your business travel destination

Key exclusions

If you're eligible for cover, you can raise a claim directly with the insurance provider. Learn more in this FAQ. Your cover may not apply if:

  • You violate the rental car agreement, including if someone who isn’t named as a driver on the agreement drives the hired car
  • You've leased or rented a car for 31 consecutive days or longer
  • You admit liability, make payment or offer or promise to make any payment without written consent from the insurer
  • Mechanical breakdown or wear and tear of a rental car
  • You rent a vehicle type that's excluded from cover
