How to open a Revolut — Kids & Teens account

Create an account for your kids or teens

In your main Revolut app:

  • Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
  • Below your balance, tap Accounts
  • Tap 'Add new'
  • Select 'Kids'
  • Enter your kid's details and follow the prompts

You’ll be able to create a second account by tapping 'Add new' and 'Kids'. Revolut — Kids & Teens T&Cs apply. Kids & Teens accounts hold one currency, which is the parent's default currency.

Can my kid open an account on their own?

Kids older than the required consent age can start the sign-up process themselves. They'll still need your approval to activate their account and order a card.

If you don’t approve your kid's request within 60 days, the request and account will be deleted.

Proving your relationship to your child

In some countries, we are required to verify that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child before a Revolut — Kids & Teens account can be fully opened. This is a legal requirement set by local authorities.

If we need you to provide proof of the relationship, you'll see a banner on your kid's account screen. Tap the notification and follow the instructions to submit the document.

You'll see a screen with the list of supported documents. Simply select the one that applies to you and complete the upload.

My proof of relationship document was rejected

If your document is rejected, you'll receive an email and a prompt in the app explaining the reason and asking you to re-upload. You can retry with a new or corrected document. Before resubmitting, make sure:

  • The document is a supported type, valid, not damaged, and readable.
  • Kid's name matches their identity document.
  • Parent/guardian's name matches their Revolut account.
  • Upload all required pages (e.g. 2 pages for family book).
  • If your name changed, upload legal proof linking old/new names.

If you're a legal guardian, upload the court order confirming full and permanent legal guardianship of the child, showing all relevant names. We can't open an account unless you have full legal guardianship, this includes situations where you're a stepparent or relative without legal guardianship.
