Split a bill by scanning receipts
How do I split a bill using a photo or file?
- Tap 'Split bill' in a chosen transaction and choose contacts to split your bill with
- Switch to 'Items' and tap 'Scan receipt'
- Take a photo of your receipt or upload an existing image or file
- Follow the prompts on screen to review the items and allocate them to your split group
What can I scan or upload?
You can scan or upload standard retail and commercial receipts, such as restaurant bills, grocery receipts, or shop receipts. Make sure the receipt is clear and easy to read for optimal results.
This service isn't designed to handle sensitive data such as card details, health information, or other sensitive personal information. Do not use it for receipts containing this data.
How are details extracted?
We use AI to identify and extract receipt details from the photo or file you upload, including items, quantities, prices, taxes, service charges, tips, discounts, and totals.
The extracted information may occasionally be inaccurate, so you should review the items, check the amounts, and confirm each person's allocation before confirming the split.
How is my data stored, shared, and deleted?
Receipts are stored securely for up to 60 days so you and split participants can view them in transaction history. Participants can see items and amounts allocated to them.
Using this feature is voluntary and you can add items or split totals manually. If you delete an attached receipt from your transaction summary, it is permanently deleted. We also conduct quality control reviews to verify proper operation.
