What is BPAY and how can I use it?

BPAY is a convenient and secure way to make bill payments in Australia.

How to make a BPAY payment

  • Go to Transfers on the main menu
  • Click +New in the top right
  • Choose an existing BPAY recipient or select 'BPAY' to add a new one
  • Enter the biller code, reference number, and optional label
  • Tap ‘Continue’
  • Choose the transfer amount
  • Review the transfer and 'Send'

How to schedule a BPAY payment

When making a payment to a biller, select a start date and repeat cycle.

You can't schedule a BPAY transfer if the biller is using a Variable Reference Number, which is unique for every bill payment.

Most common reasons for BPAY errors

  • Biller code not valid: check if the biller code is accurate, or contact the biller
  • Amount not valid: check if the amount is accurate, or contact the biller
  • Request is invalid: check the biller code and reference number is accurate
  • Reference number not valid: check if the reference number is accurate, or contact the biller
  • Payment date is incorrect: contact the biller
