What is Open Banking and how does it work?

What is Open Banking and what can I use it for?

Open Banking is part of Australia's Consumer Data Right (CDR), which gives businesses greater control over their financial data. It lets you securely share the data we hold about your business with other accredited providers, like accounting software or lenders, when you choose to.

You can integrate your Revolut Business account with a range of other business platforms through Open Banking, such as:

  • Accounting software (such as Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB, and more)
  • Business loan and credit products
  • Budgeting and financial management apps

What accounts are eligible and what data can be shared?

You can share data from active Revolut Business transactions and savings accounts. The data you can share includes your business contact details, account details, balances, transaction history, and saved payees. Sharing is read-only — no third party can move money or make changes to your account.

Revolut is an Accredited Data Holder (ADH) under the CDR. This means we share your data with other accredited providers when you authorise it. We're not an Accredited Data Recipient, so we can't pull in data from your other banks on your behalf. For more information, see our CDR Policy.

Is Open Banking safe?

Open Banking is regulated by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework. Every provider must be accredited and meet strict security and privacy standards.

You can verify any provider's accreditation on the CDR's register of current providers.

Where can I get further support?

For questions about accessing your data, correcting your information, or anything else, see our CDR Policy for details. Alternatively, contact us via the in-app chat.

If you have a complaint, you can submit it in-app, via our online complaints form, or by emailing complaints.au@revolut.com. See our CDR Policy for what details you should include.
