Applying for a Personal Loan

Loan eligibility

Revolut offers unsecured personal loans between the values of AUD5,000 to AUD50,000. To have a loan with Revolut, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a good credit history (no adverse events)
  • Be employed for at least 3 months or self-employed for at least 1 year
  • Have a minimum income of AUD2,000 per month after tax (roughly equivalent to AUD26,000 per year before tax)

We'll also assess your ability to afford the loan, and check that it meets our responsible lending obligations.

How to apply for a Personal Loan as a new customer

  • Go to the Loans section of the Revolut website and click 'Get quote'
  • Fill out a short web questionnaire to get your personalised quote, which won't impact your credit score
  • If eligible, then download and log into the Revolut app to complete your application
  • You'll need to submit 3 months' worth of bank statements

How to apply for a Personal Loan as an existing customer

  • Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
  • Below your balance, tap Accounts
  • Tap 'Add new'
  • Select 'Personal loan'
  • Tell us how much you want to borrow and your preferred repayment duration. Based on your personal details, we can get your personalised quote (which won't impact your credit score)
  • If eligible, fill out the short application and submit 3 months' worth of bank statements
  • Once you submit your application, we'll run a hard credit check that will appear on your credit report. We’ll request your consent before we do so

If we need more information, we'll reach out via the in-app chat. If we need additional documents, you'll be able to submit them in-app. You should get a decision within 1–3 business days, but it may take longer.

If your loan application is approved

Your offer might be different to what you applied for, depending on how much you were approved for. You'll be able to review the terms and accept, reject, or edit the offer — including the amount and duration (up to the maximum approved for you). You need to finalise the process by:

  • Viewing the offer
  • Editing the offer (if needed)
  • Reading the pre-contractual documentation
  • Accepting the offer in-app
  • After this, the funds will be available in your Revolut account immediately

When reviewing your application, we consider your existing financial obligations, expenses, and income. If we find that the amount and term you initially asked for may lead to financial difficulties, we'll adjust the offer. Our decision is final and can't be changed by our customer support agents.
