Information needed to open an investment account

During the sign-up process for trading, you'll need to answer multiple questions and provide some information for regulatory purposes.

They include (but are not limited to):

  • Confirming you aren't a US citizen or resident: We can't open investment accounts for US citizens outside of the USA as per regulatory requirements. Read this FAQ to learn more about it
  • National identifier details: The national identifier, or national identity number (NIN), is related to your first nationality, as a national of a given country
  • Occupation: Provide occupation as close as possible to your current job
  • Affiliation: Confirm if you are affiliated with or employed by a stock exchange, member firm of an exchange of FINRA, or a municipal securities broker-dealer
  • Tax identification number: Your TIN has to match the country of your residency (where your Revolut account is registered)

To learn more about updating your Tax information, check out this FAQ in our Help Centre.
