Using Itsme® to open a personal Revolut account

Itsme® allows you to quickly and securely confirm your identity when signing up for a personal Revolut account.

Itsme® is highly secure, adhering to strict European electronic identification, authentication and trust services (eIDAS) and general data protection regulation (GDPR) rules. You'll need to agree to share your details with Revolut to proceed.

This identity verification step is only used during the initial account sign-up. Once you've joined, you can use your usual Revolut login methods.

How do I use Itsme® to sign up for Revolut?

During the Revolut sign-up process, you'll be prompted to use Itsme® for verification. If chosen, you'll be automatically redirected to your Itsme® app.

Enter your Itsme® code or use biometric recognition in the Itsme® app to confirm. The app will show you the data Revolut is requesting. You'll need to agree to this to confirm your identity.

If you don't have Itsme® yet, you can create your account on the official Itsme® website using your electronic ID (eID) and card reader, or a partner bank. You need a valid Belgian eID and a mobile number.

What if my Itsme® account is blocked?

Revolut does not manage or have access to your Itsme® account. If your account is blocked or you're having issues with the app, contact Itsme® directly.

If you're unable to resolve the problem with Itsme®, you may still be able to complete your Revolut sign-up process using the standard identity verification process.
