How do I set my Revolut POS passcodes?
A passcode is required to log in to the Revolut POS app, to reactivate it after inactivity, or to perform certain restricted actions based on your security settings. You can choose between different types of access modes — shared team codes or individual staff codes.
This passcode is separate from your login credentials and is specifically for app security. To know more about login credentials, read this FAQ.
Shared team codes
One passcode for the entire team. This option simplifies access but does not track sales or time by individual team members. To set this up:
- On the Revolut Web Portal, go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Security'
- Turn on 'Team passcode' using the toggle
- Choose or generate a passcode
You can restrict access to certain features by locking them behind the passcode to suit your security needs. This includes accessing reports, issuing refunds, and logging out of the account. To do so, toggle the restricted action on from 'Settings'.
Individual staff codes
Each team member signs in with a unique code. This allows you to track transactions and sales per team member. The code is required after the screen locks or after periods of inactivity. To set up individual staff codes:
- On the Revolut Web Portal, go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Security'
- Turn on 'Individual staff codes' using the toggle
Individual staff codes and their associated permissions can be set in the 'Team' section of the Revolut POS Web Portal.
Troubleshooting passcode problems
If you're having difficulty with your passcode, double check the type of passcode in use and ensure the passcode you're using corresponds to a team member with appropriate permissions. Team members with 'TimeClock only' permission won't have access to the Revolut POS register.
If you're unable to log back in, try reinstalling the app. This issue often happens when changes are made while the app is locked, causing those changes not to be recorded properly.
