Failed payments on the Revolut Terminal

In the case of payment failure, payments will appear as 'failed' or 'declined' on the terminal screen. The customer's card won't be charged.

Transactions may fail for different reasons. The most common are:

  • The customer doesn't have enough money in their account
  • Customer's card is blocked or the card has encountered a limit
  • The PIN entered by the customer is incorrect
  • The customer is using a card we don't support
  • Your internet connection is unstable

Troubleshooting using an eSIM connection

  • Ask the customer to try with a different card
  • Switch to our free integrated eSIM for a stable connection. For more information, read this FAQ
  • To ensure the terminal is on the latest version, restart the device twice — preferably while connected to a mobile hotspot
