What is the excess for travel insurance claims?

Depending on the benefit you claim under, an excess may be deducted from the claim amount. This means you'll receive the claim amount minus the excess amount. For some types of claims, this excess doesn’t apply (for example, for overseas emergency medical expense claims, an excess doesn’t apply).

It's important to check your coverage to understand if an excess applies to your specific claim and will be deducted from the claim amount.

Remember, Revolut doesn't have access to your claim, so you’ll need to contact the travel insurance provider directly if you have any doubts regarding a payment received from a claim. To find out more about how to contact the provider, read this FAQ.

How to check your coverage

This is only a summary of your coverage. Revolut travel insurance is provided through XCover, not Revolut itself. XCover is responsible for policy terms, conditions, and claim handling. If you have questions about the cover, contact them or read the T&Cs by following these steps in the Revolut app:

  • In the search bar at the top of the screen, search for 'Insurance'
  • Select 'Insurance'
  • Select 'Travel insurance' and tap 'Get help'
