Opening your investment account

How do I open an investment account for my business?

Only the Business account owner can set up Business Invest. To get started:

  • Open Revolut Business and go to 'Treasury' and then 'Invest'
  • Follow the sign-up process
  • Accept the Invest terms and conditions

Once complete, you'll have access to your Business Invest investment account.

Why was my investment account application rejected?

Common reasons include:

  • Your entity is US-incorporated (not eligible)
  • Your LEI is invalid or expired
  • Your Revolut Business verification (identity checks) is incomplete
  • Your country of incorporation is outside the supported UK/EEA population
  • A sanctions or financial crime screening flag was raised

If you believe the rejection is incorrect, contact support via our in-app chat.

What is a legal entity identifier (LEI)?

An LEI is a unique 20-character code that identifies your business in financial transactions globally. Under MiFID II regulations, any legal entity trading exchange-traded instruments must hold an active LEI — without one, your business cannot place trades.

If you already have a LEI, enter it during the Invest sign-up process. We'll validate it against the global LEI database (https://www.gleif.org/en).

If you don't have a LEI, Revolut can generate an LEI on your behalf via our partner for a fee of €50, using data already collected during your business sign-up process — no extra paperwork is needed.
