You can use the combo card abroad, but transactions will be processed as credit payments in the majority of cases. This includes transactions in-person, using your physical card or mobile wallet, and online transactions.

Some PoS terminals and ATMs abroad may recognize the debit functionality of your combo card, usually when you’re using chip and PIN instead of contactless or swipe, but we can't guarantee they will do it.

This is why we recommend that you use your global debit card for debit transactions in foreign currencies or when abroad.

Credit transactions in foreign currencies, or outside of Brazil, are subject to Imposto sobre Operações Financeiras (IOF) and exchange rate spread.
