When abroad, transactions will be processed as credit payments in the majority of cases. If you don't have an active credit facility, these transactions will be declined. This is why we recommend that you use your global debit card for debit transactions in foreign currencies or when abroad.

Some PoS terminals and ATMs abroad may recognize the debit functionality of your card, usually when you’re using chip and PIN instead of contactless or swipe, but we can't guarantee they will do it.
