Credit Card's late repayment charges and consequences

If you’re late repaying your credit card balance after receiving your monthly statement, 2% of the overdue payment amount due will be charged as a late fee. This is as well as the monthly interest that applies as part of your credit agreement.

For every month that a late payment is due, a further 1% of the overdue payment amount will also be charged as interest. Also, Imposto sobre Operações Financeiras (IOF) tax will be charged.

Depending on how late your payment is, your card may be suspended or even cancelled.

How do late repayments affect my credit score?

Late card repayments may affect your credit score, depending on how long it takes you to make the payment. If you take several days to pay your card bill, your name will then be shared with third parties who will adjust your credit score.

If you make the repayment before your details are shared with third-party credit institutions, then your credit score won’t be affected. If you make the payment after your name is shared with these third parties, any notes of bad credit that they previously issued will be removed from your history.

To avoid having your name shared with these third parties, we advise you to make repayments in time.

Do late payment charges apply to customers of every plan?
