What's SCR — Banco Central do Brasil?

What is Sistema de Informações de Crédito (SCR)?

The Sistema de Informações de Crédito (SCR) is a system managed by Central Bank of Brasil (BCB) that gathers data regarding credit operations and granted limits by financial institutions.

It serves as a customer's financial history, and is updated monthly with information sent by financial institutions themselves.

The main purpose of SCR is to provide BCB subsidies for the monitoring and supervision of credit in the financial ecosystem.

Who is allowed to consult SCR?

SCR may be consulted by:

  • A customer/account owner
  • BCB
  • Authorised financial institutions, provided previous authorisation by the customer, according to live regulations. In Revolut's case, authorisation is included in our account opening agreement

What data is registered in SCR?

Financial institutions send the following data to BCB through SCR:

  • Outstanding amounts about to be due
  • Due amounts, including overdue and write-off amounts
  • Co-obligations
  • Collaterals provided

Consulting your SCF records is free, and can be done through the Registrato system ('Meu BC' menu) on the BCB website. It's necessary to log in with a gold or silver level 'GOV.BR' account.

What if the data shown is incorrect?

You can reach out to the responsible financial institution (for instance, Revolut) and request:

  • A correction or exclusion of the data
  • To register a complaint of disagreement

The institution who registered the information is responsible for its management. If you have any questions, reach out to Revolut Support.
