Why is my incoming transfer pending?

A 'pending' status means the transfer is with us, but we need to complete some final checks before releasing the funds to your account. Common reasons for a pending transfer:

  • We're waiting for required information from the sending bank
  • The transfer needs to be reviewed to meet regulatory requirements

Pending transfers are usually processed within 3 business days. You should wait up to 5 business days before reporting the transfer as delayed or seeking support. If the transfer is still pending after this time, please contact our support team for help.

My transfer was reverted

A 'reverted' status means we were unable to process the transfer, and the funds have been sent back to the sender's account. Common reasons for a reverted transfer:

  • The transfer details were incorrect or incomplete (e.g. a missing reference number)
  • We requested missing personal information for your Revolut account and didn't receive it in time

What happens next?

The funds will automatically be returned to the sender, but the timeframe depends on the transfer type. Revolut cannot speed up this process as it depends on the sending bank and any intermediary banks.

  • Domestic transfers: should arrive back in the sender's account within 5 business days
  • International (SWIFT) transfers: can take up to 15 to 20 business days due to the multiple intermediary banks involved

The sender should contact their bank if the funds don't arrive within these timeframes. Once they receive the money, they can attempt to send you the transfer again using the correct details.
