What is Open Finance and how does it work?

Open Finance is an initiative by the Central Bank of Brazil that enables secure data sharing between financial institutions, giving customers more control and convenience in managing their finances.

Only institutions authorised by the Central Bank can participate. Regulations define whether participants are mandatory or voluntary, depending on the institution and type of data shared.

At Revolut, you can currently withdraw funds to other accounts using Pix via Open Finance. Open Finance top-ups and data sharing features will be available in the future.

How does it work?

When paying or transferring money, select Open Finance as the payment method in the relevant institution's app. Then, follow these steps:

  • Select ‘Revolut’
  • You'll be redirected to Revolut for authentication
  • Don't close the institution’s app or the Revolut app
  • Return to the institution's app to complete the payment

Transactions made through Open Finance are free for customers, but must follow Pix limits.

How do I check or manage payments via Open Finance?

To view your Open Finance payment history, edit or cancel current payments:

  • Go to ‘Home’ on the bottom menu
  • Tap your profile picture or initials in the top-left corner
  • Select ‘Account’
  • 'Open Finance', and select ‘Authorisations’
