Can I transfer from BRL directly to a bank account in another currency?

To transfer from your BRL pocket, you first need to convert your BRL money to USD. Once your money is in USD, you can transfer to any other banks with available currencies. This happens because BRL is a non-convertible currency with a closed financial system by rules of the Central Bank of Brazil and any swap of BRL to other currencies will have to be done through foreign exchange.

Exchange Fee

  • Business hours: 1% service fee;
  • Out of business hours: 1.5% (0.5% on top of service fee).

Tax

0.38% IOF (Tax Over Financial Operations)
