Trading value limits
Minimum order value
The minimum order value is USD 1 for US stocks and ETFs and €1 for EU stocks and ETFs.
Maximum order limit
- Buy orders: You can place orders up to USD 100,000/€100,000 for stocks and ETFs or up to 50,000 shares if their total value is under $100,000/€100,000.
- Sell orders: You can place orders up to USD 1,500,000/€1,500,000 or 50,000 shares if their total value is below this limit.
You can buy USD 100,000 worth of a stock and then immediately buy another USD 100,000 worth of the same stock. However, if the USD 100,000 is for less than 50,000 shares each time, you can't buy USD 101,000 worth of stock, unless you’re subscribed to Trading Pro, which offers higher order limits.
These limits can be bypassed in the case of closing out a position (selling 100% of a stock), up to a hard limit set by the broker of USD 1,500,000/€1,500,000 or 50,000 shares. To learn more about closing a stock position, go to this FAQ.
If you have Trading Pro
With our Trading Pro add-on, your order limit is increased up to USD 1,500,000 on US stocks or €1,500,000 on EU stocks, or up to a maximum of 50,000 shares if they're worth less than USD 1,500,000 on US stocks or €1,500,000 for EU stocks and ETFs.
