Open and manage a currency account
In addition to your home currency EUR, you can also have additional accounts to hold other currencies.
How to open an additional currency account
- Go to the 'Home' screen
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Tap 'Add new'
- Choose 'Currency account'
- You'll see a list of available currencies for holding, which you can choose from
- Follow the steps in-app to set up your additional currency account
Although you can hold and spend available currencies, it doesn't necessarily mean you can send or receive transfers with them. To see a list of unsupported countries for receiving transfers, head to this FAQ. To see a list of unsupported countries for sending transfers, go to this article.
Supported currencies for holding
Currently, you can hold and exchange between the following fiat currencies: AED, AUD, BGN, CAD, CHF, CLP, COP, CZK, DKK, EGP, EUR, GBP, HKD, HUF, IDR, ILS, INR, ISK, JPY, KRW, KZT, MAD, MXN, NOK, NZD, PHP, PLN, QAR, RON, RSD, SAR, SEK, SGD, THB, TRY, USD, ZAR
If a currency isn't supported for holding, you can still make card payments and withdrawals. In these cases, the currency will be exchanged at the time of the transaction.
Manage or hide currency accounts
Pin your most used accounts
Open your 'Accounts' list and press and hold to pin an account to your 'Favourites', which will always show at the top of your accounts list.
Deactivate an account
Only currency accounts with an available balance can be deactivated. The main currency account can’t be deactivated.
- Go to the 'Home' screen
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Press the relevant account and swipe left to reveal options
- Tap 'Deactivate'
This won't block incoming money, but will block spending from that account. To activate the account again, tap on the account and, then tap 'Reactivate'.
Hide an account
You can hide currency accounts with no balance. The main currency account can’t be hidden.
- Go to the 'Home' screen
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Press and swipe left to reveal options
- Tap 'Hide'
This won't block incoming money. To add the account back to your list, tap 'Accounts' under your balance and tap 'Add new'.
