How to process transactions with Revolut Terminal

You can finalise transactions by using the 'Pay at counter' feature. This feature lets you start a transaction on your Revolut POS, before instantly sending the payment amount to a connected Revolut Terminal, where the customer completes the payment.

You will need to enable the feature on your Terminal first.

Setting the Revolut Terminal as the default payment device

  • In your POS app, go to 'More' and select 'Hardware settings'
  • Select 'Find payment devices'
  • Select your Terminal in 'Pay at counter' mode
  • Set it as the Default Payment Device for automatic payments

The system uses the last successfully used device as the default device for future transactions.

Finalise the transaction

  • Complete the order in the POS app and go to 'Checkout'
  • Select the payment type (card payment or Revolut Pay)
  • The POS pushes the final amount instantly to the default Revolut Terminal
  • The customer completes the payment on the device
  • The POS app receives confirmation and closes the order

Alternative scenarios and error handling

If no default device is set, you’ll be prompted at checkout to select a payment device manually.

For using a different Terminal for one order, tap the three dots in the corner of the 'Credit/debit card' option at checkout to choose another device.

If no devices are available (connected or powered on), a message will appear instructing you to set a Terminal to 'Pay at counter' mode before accepting payments.
