Verify my identity
Where do I submit my proof of identity?
If we need you to provide proof of identity, you'll get an email, push notification, and a banner on your Home screen in-app. To submit, simply tap any notification we send you about your identity checks.
If you don't see any prompts for this information in-app, check your emails as we may already have everything we need. If you're having issues with identity verification, visit this FAQ in our Help Centre. To pass our checks, you'll need to do one of the following:
- Complete a test top-up (let the system charge a small amount from your German bank account to Revolut, which will then be reversed)
- Submit required documents
- Sign with a Qualified Electronic Signature
- Perform a video call verification
How long do I have to submit my proof of identity?
We’ll give you a deadline to send the new document by. Your account will keep working until this deadline, but afterwards it may be temporarily restricted until you can provide valid proof of identity.
Guidelines
- The types of document we accept re listed on the submission screen in-app
- Your documents must be up-to-date
- The name on your document must match the name on your Revolut account
- If your nationality is different from your current residential address, you may be asked for proof of address or other documents
Document upload tips
- Update your Revolut app to the latest version
- Make sure your document is clear and easy to read
- Capture the entire document. Don't fold, crop, or exclude any part of it
- Upload a photo of the original, physical document
- We can't accept pictures of copies, scans, or device screens
