How does Revolut protect me against fraud?
We're dedicated to secure your finances from fraudsters. Here's how we do it:
Secure access protocols
When you use the mobile app to access Revolut, we use multiple layers of security. You'll be prompted to enter a PIN, passcode, or biometrics (like fingerprint or facial recognition). Sometimes, we'll send you a one-time password (OTP) via SMS.
In-app fraud warnings
Our vigilant automated security system monitors transactions for signs of potential fraud. If suspicious activity is detected, we'll send you in-app warnings. Always take the time to consider your transactions before acting. If in doubt, you can get in touch with us via the in-app chat. Revolut Support is available 24/7.
Online purchase verification
If the merchant requests transaction verification, we'll notify you. Simply follow the in-app prompts to confirm the request before proceeding with the payment. We may also ask for additional layers of verification, such as two-factor authentication.
Confirmation for new recipients
Before sending money to a new recipient, we’ll ask you to confirm the transfer in-app. This step helps make sure you trust the intended recipient, adding an extra layer of security to your transactions.
Virtual disposable cards
Our single-use virtual cards offer an extra layer of protection against online threats. As soon as the virtual card is used for a transaction, its details are instantly deleted to prevent unauthorised access. To order a virtual card in-app, go to the Cards section.
