Who is covered for travel insurance?

Coverage requirements

To get Revolut travel insurance cover, the policyholder must meet the following requirements:

  • You're a resident of the EEA
  • You're at least 18 years of age
  • Your primary residence matches the address on your Revolut account
  • Your journey meets the definition of a trip
  • Your trip's purpose is leisure, business trips are covered in the Ultra plan only
  • Your trip starts and ends at your primary residence

Children coverage

The policyholder's children (including fostered, adopted, and step-children) are covered under this policy, as long as they're:

  • Maximum 17 years of age at the time of travel
  • Travelling with the account holder
  • Unmarried

Companion coverage

For Metal or Ultra customers, your spouse or cohabitant is covered under this policy, as long as they're:

  • A spouse by marriage, domestic partnership, or civil union
  • Living with the policyholder for at least 12 consecutive months prior to travel and at least 18 years of age
  • Travelling with the account holder
  • Travelling on a journey that meets the definition of a trip

When you make a claim, to verify your eligibility, your insurance provider may request documentation proving that you and your partner live together. This could include a utility bill or an official letter from a government agency or bank.

Check your insurance policy

In the Revolut app:

  • Go to 'RevPoints' on the bottom menu of the Revolut app
  • Tap 'Insurance'
  • Tap 'Travel' and choose a cover type
  • Select 'All documents'
