Requesting money with a payment link
Payment links are a secure way to send or receive money without sharing personal information or account details.
They can also be used to send money to a card, bank account, or Revolut account, and to request money from a card, external bank account, or a Revolut account. To learn about sending money with a payment link, visit this FAQ.
How to create a payment link request
In the Revolut app:
- Go to 'Payments' on the bottom menu
- Tap 'New' (the + sign) in the top-right corner
- Tap 'Create a payment link'
- Tap 'Request money'
- Set the amount to request, or share a generic Revolut.me link and allow the sender to input the amount
To change the amount on a payment link, you’ll need to cancel it and create a new one. You can cancel a payment link at any time before it expires, as long as it’s not already been used. To do so, tap the payment from the transactions list, and hit 'Cancel'.
Limits and timeframes
You can receive a maximum of £250 per week (or the equivalent in other currencies) via card payments. To request money from non-Revolut customers, Revtag discoverability should be enabled in-app. To enable it in the Revolut app:
- Tap your profile icon in the top-left corner
- Select 'Accounts' and 'Privacy'
- Tap 'Make me discoverable' and choose 'Revtag'
When you request money, the sender will have 10 days to complete your request and then the link will expire. If the sender was asked to create a Revolut account, it's probably because you’ve reached the weekly limit for payment requests from non-Revolut customers.
Supported cards and currencies
If a sender chooses to use a card or Apple Pay to send you money, the same rules applicable to card top-ups apply. To see what cards and currencies are accepted, visit this FAQ. Google Pay isn't accepted for payment links at this time.
