Manage team members permissions

You can set different roles in your Revolut Business account — to be assigned to different team members — which will allow you to manage their access. The role assigned to a team member dictates what they can see and do within the Business account.

Types of roles

There are 5 default roles you can choose from. You can't edit the permissions of default roles, but you can create custom roles if you want different permissions.

  • Owner: Revolut Business account owner with full access. There can be only 1 per account (to transfer ownership of the account to another team member, check this FAQ)
  • Admin: Full access to features and apps (ideal for co-owners and finance directors)
  • Accountant: Can perform financial operations (ideal for your internal accountants)
  • Viewer: Read-only access to all features and apps (ideal for external bookkeepers)
  • Member: Restricted to their own cards and info (ideal for employees using cards for business expenses)
  • Custom roles: Create a role with custom permissions by going to 'Team' → 'Settings' → 'Roles' → 'New'

Edit a team member’s role or permissions

You'll need the 'Manage Team Members' permission to change other team member's roles or permissions. To edit their roles or permissions:

  1. Go to 'Team'
  2. Select the team member whose role you want to edit
  3. Select 'Role'
  4. From there, you can assign a different role, or adjust their current permissions (if they have a custom role)

Manage team member access to currency accounts

Separately from team member roles and permissions, you can grant or restrict access to individual currency accounts.

Check out our team access to currency accounts FAQs for more information.

Important notes:

  • There can be only 1 'Owner' per account, but the 'Admin' role also provides additional team members full access to the Revolut Business account
  • To transfer ownership of the account to another team member, follow this FAQ
  • Team members can't edit their own role, even if they have the permission to 'Manage team members'
  • Use approval processes to approve or reject all types of team member requests (e.g. money transfers, expenses, reimbursements, or cards)
