How to use Revolut virtual card?
Our virtual card is a digital-only payment card you can create directly in the Revolut app, for no fee. Virtual cards are more secure than physical ones, as they can't be lost or stolen and use advanced security measures, like two-factor authentication, to prevent fraud. With disposable single-use virtual cards, your details are immediately deleted and refreshed after each purchase, so they can't be reused or skimmed by criminals.
How do I pay with a virtual card?
- Pay in-store using Apple Pay or Google Pay: Link your virtual card to Apple Pay or Google Pay, depending on your device. You can learn about adding your virtual card to your wallet in this FAQ in our Help Centre
- Make online purchases: View your virtual card details in-app, such as the card number, expiry date (MM/YY), and CVV number
- Set spending limits: Monthly spending limits allow you to control your budget and avoid overspending
- Set up recurring payments: Automate charges and never miss a payment
Can I add or withdraw money from a virtual card?
- It isn't possible to directly add funds to virtual cards. Instead, the funds will be automatically drawn from your available Revolut accounts

Manage your virtual card
- Freeze/unfreeze: Prevent unauthorised use and unfreeze your card when you're ready to use it again
- Customise: Label your card to help you organise multiple cards for specific payments
A virtual card is ideal for subscriptions, digital wallets, and online shopping because you can save its details and use it again. Disposable single-use virtual cards are useful for one-time payments, especially if you have doubts about the merchant's security, or you prefer not to have your card details saved and reused.
