Credit card repayments
Understanding credit card repayments
On the first day of the month, you'll receive your credit card statement for the previous month's transactions. If you have used your credit limit, you need to repay at least the minimum payment before the due date (last calendar day of the month) to avoid late fees and entering into arrears.
An interest-free period covers your purchase transactions. To benefit from this, you should pay the full statement balance before the statement due date (the last calendar day of the month after you complete the transaction). Interest-free period does not apply to cash-like transactions.
You aren't required to wait until the due date to make your payment. You can set up AutoPay to make automatic scheduled repayments from your EUR account, or you can make one-time payments at any time. Learn more about your statement in this FAQ.
Minimum payment due and back-up card
The ‘Minimum payment due’ section of your statement is the minimum amount you need to pay each month by the due date to avoid late payment charges.
If you haven't made the minimum repayment by the due date, we'll attempt to debit this from your EUR account on the last day of the month to prevent falling into arrears. If you don't have enough funds and have a back-up card set up, we'll charge the minimum payment on the back-up card.
To prevent any missed payments, you can set up a back-up card in your credit card account by selecting ‘More’ → ‘'AutoPay' → ‘Add a back-up card’. If you don't have a backup card or the backup card deposit fails, you may be charged a late fee. You can read more about interest and fees in this FAQ.
AutoPay
AutoPay allows you to automatically pay either the full amount of your monthly statement balance, the minimum payment, or a fixed amount from your Revolut EUR account on a chosen date. You can set up AutoPay from your EUR account:
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Select your credit card account
- Tap 'More' and 'AutoPay'
- Set the repayment date
- Select the amount
- Add a back-up card to cover the minimum payment if you don’t have enough money to complete AutoPay
AutoPay will be triggered in the month your statement is generated (the month after the transactions were made). If you don’t have sufficient funds in your EUR account on the chosen date, your AutoPay repayment will fail and you’ll need to make a one-time payment instead.
Make a one-time payment
You can make a one-time manual payment from your EUR account at any time in your Revolut app:
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
- Below your balance, tap 'Accounts'
- Select your credit card account
- Tap 'Repay'
- Choose a payment amount
If you don't pay off your balance in full, we'll allocate your repayments according to what is defined in your Credit Agreement. For more information, check your Credit Agreement in the Credit card section and tap ‘Info’ → ‘Documents’.
