How can I switch my account from another EU bank or PSP (Payment Service Provider) to Revolut?

Switching your account from another bank or Payment Service Provider (PSP) in Spain to Revolut is free.

👉 To switch your account, you need to already be a Revolut customer, be a resident in Spain, and have completed your identity verification.

Using the account switching service.

If you wish to switch your account, please register here.

We'll switch Direct Debits and periodic credit transfers from your old bank or payment provider to your Revolut account.

We'll also transfer any positive account balance from your old account to your Revolut account. If there's a negative balance on your old account, however, we'll need to reject your request to switch.

You can also ask for your old bank account to be closed, and we'll create a notification for you, which you can send to your old bank. Some banks may not allow your old bank account to remain open after you switch.

📝 Make sure that the account at the other bank:

  • Has no outstanding obligations on the incoming payment account.
  • Is suitable for over 18 years of age.
  • Is not a business account.
  • Is not an account jointly held with another party.
  • Is denominated in currencies supported by Revolut.

The following services are not covered by the account switching service:

  • Some credit sources (e.g., social services payments).
  • Recurring payments linked to the debit card on your old account.

Once you register via the link above and answer all the questions, we'll inform your payment partners of the switch. We'll email you to let you know when the switch has been completed successfully.

You'll be asked to choose a date on which the switching process will commence (the 'Switching Date').

You should choose a date which has the least activity on your old account.

For example, where possible, you shouldn't choose a date that is close to when your salary gets paid into your old account, or when direct debits or standing orders come out of your old account. This approach will give the account switching service the best chance of working effectively and without disruption to your recurring payments.

The switching date must be at least 6 business days from the date you complete the registration.

If you've chosen to close your old account while registering, you should:

  • Refrain from using any bank card or cheque book on your old account once the account switching service has started.
  • Return any unused cheques on your old account.
  • Return any bank cards on your old account.

If any incoming payments arrive to your old account after the switch date, please contact your old bank to make sure they're paid into Revolut.
