How do I close my account?

To close your account:

  1. Go to Settings by clicking on your account name on the top-left corner
  2. Go to Account & documents
  3. Scroll to the bottom and click Close business account
  • Choose a reason why you’re closing your account
  • Your account will be closed instantly

Please remember:

  • Clear the account of all funds first
  • Check there are no pending transactions
  • If you reach out to our team, you'll need to be able to refer to the document you gave us for identity verification while setting up your account
  • Your account must be on a Basic plan. If you're on a paid plan, change your subscription in the Billing page
  • You must pay 49 GBP (or equivalent currency) for any free Metal cards issued within the last 3 months (see here).

Only the account owner has the right to ask to close a Business account. In certain specific situations we may not be able to close your account straight away. If you can’t close the account yourself, feel free to raise a support request.
