The billed amount is the total amount of bill value against a purchase order, regardless of whether the bill is paid or open.

You can attach multiple bills to a single purchase order as long as the total billed amount does not exceed the approved purchase order value.

If a single bill is larger than the purchase order amount, it can still be linked, but no additional bills can be added to that purchase order. If further spending is required, a new purchase order will need to be created to cover the extra amount.
