Crypto services stopping in Hungary
Why are crypto services being stopped in my country?
To comply with recent changes in Hungarian legislation, we made the difficult decision to stop providing crypto services to our customers in Hungary.
Which crypto services are affected?
Our customers in Hungary are currently unable to sign up to our crypto services, buy or stake cryptoassets, receive staking rewards, or make withdrawals. This applies to all customers, whether or not you’ve previously traded.
If you've never traded crypto with Revolut before, you won’t have access to crypto services at all under the current restrictions.
What will happen to my current funds and my crypto account?
Customers in Hungary can sell their crypto assets by 18 December 2025. After this date, any remaining funds will be sold automatically at the prevailing market price over the following days, and your Crypto account will be closed.
Customers with staked crypto should unstake by 10 December 2025. After this period, any staked crypto will be automatically unstaked, and the resulting funds will be converted to your main Revolut account.
The funds will be credited to your main Revolut account, with the conversion completed by no later than 25 December 2025.
What do I need to do?
Other than selling or unstaking any cryptocurrency you wish, you don't need to take any action. We'll be in touch as soon as we have any updates.
