Applying for a credit card
Eligibility requirements
To apply for a credit card, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a full resident in the Republic of Ireland
- Permanently live in a registered address in Ireland and your current address is listed with Revolut
- Be employed in Ireland and have your income paid into your Revolut, AIB, Bank of Ireland, or Permanent TSB account
- Have an Irish or UK mobile phone number linked to your Revolut account
- You're an active Revolut customer for at least 30 days and have no information missing from your account
- Have no negative balances in your Revolut account
- Have no overdue commitments to third parties
To apply for a credit card in-app:
- Go to 'Home' on the bottom menu
- Below your balance, tap Accounts
- Tap 'Add new', then 'Credit'
- Select 'Credit Card'
- Fill out the short application
In most cases, you will receive an answer right away. Sometimes our manual credit underwriters need to review your application. If we need more information, we'll reach out via email and any additional documents can be submitted in-app. We'll notify you about our decision within 3 business days.
If your application is approved, you can finalise setting up your credit card by reviewing the offer and selecting your preferred terms. Then, you can order a physical or virtual credit card and start using it right away.
