How do round ups work in crypto spare change?

The way spare change round ups work for cryptocurrencies depends on the currency you make your card payments in.

For most currencies, we’ll round up your Revolut card transactions to the nearest whole number. For example, if you spend £3.60 on a coffee, we’ll round it up to £4.00 and invest £0.40 in your chosen crypto token.

However, for certain currencies, we’ll round up in multiples of 5, 10, or 100:

  • Currencies we round up to the nearest multiple of 5: PLN, RON;
  • Currencies we round up to the nearest multiple of 10: SEK, NOK, DKK, CZK, ZAR;
  • Currencies we round up to the nearest multiple of 100: HUF, JPY.

Examples:

  • If you spend PLN 3.00 on a card transaction, we’ll round it up to 5.00 and invest PLN 2.00 in your chosen token;
  • If you spend SEK 3.00 on a card transaction, we’ll round it up to 10.00 and invest SEK 7.00 in your chosen token;
  • If you spend HUF 30.00 on a card transaction, we’ll round it up to 100.00 and invest HUF 70.00 in your chosen token.
