We charge a 1% currency exchange fee when the markets are closed. Markets are closed from Friday 5pm (New York time) to Sunday 6pm (New York time).

The fee is charged regardless of your plan. You can see the fee before making the transaction in-app.

We don't charge extra fees on public or bank holidays, as long as it’s not during the weekend. 

Why do I need to pay a fee? 

Weekend fees are in place due to the closure of currency exchange markets on weekends with fixed rates. When the market reopens on Monday, the rates may differ from Friday's closing rates. 

Can I avoid weekend fees?

You can avoid weekend fees by planning your currency exchanges and transactions to occur on weekdays, when the markets are open.
