We assess income to ensure responsible lending, focusing on your ability to manage repayments. This involves verifying the amount, consistency, and source of your income against Revolut’s internal lending policies.

Your application can be declined if we can’t confirm sufficient, consistent, sustainable, and verifiable income.

To verify your income, we rely on the information from your Revolut account and from other bank accounts linked during the application process. Please make sure to link all accounts where your main income is received.

If you're experiencing difficulty linking external bank accounts, or can’t find your bank, select the option ‘I can’t find or connect my bank’. You can also try to link your bank account before starting a new application. To do so, read this FAQ.

We may request additional information such as payslips. If we didn’t ask you to submit documentation in-app, it’s because additional information wasn't required for our assessment.

Our lending criteria requires a minimum income level to ensure affordability. If your income is below this threshold, your application will be declined.

The minimum threshold can’t be disclosed and varies depending on Revolut internal policies. Both your personal circumstances and overall financial situation are taken into consideration.

While other elements of your financial profile may be taken into account in our assessment, a regular income or salary is the primary factor in our evaluation.

We look for consistent income patterns over at least the last three consecutive months, paid into the same bank account, from the same employer, and paid in EUR.

Irregular income or changes in employment can also affect our assessment of your income sustainability.

Your verified income may also be inconsistent with the income you declared on your credit application. When declaring your income in the credit application questionnaire, please include the average of the past three months.
