What is a trading day?

For US-listed securities, a trading day runs from 09:30 to 16:00, Eastern Time (ET). Trading days are usually Monday to Friday, except for market holidays or shortened trading days. When a trading day ends, all share trading ends until the next trading day begins.

For European-listed securities, a trading day starts at 06:00 and ends at 20:00, Monday to Friday, Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) — except for holidays or shortened trading days.
