What is a Revolut Basic account and how does it work?
A Basic account is a regulated bank account with basic payment account services approved by the Bank of Lithuania.

Who can open a Basic account?
Customers who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Customers who are legally resident in a Member State as per Republic of Lithuania Law on Payments Art 2(59)
- Customers who substantiate professional, economic, social or personal relations with the Republic of Lithuania
- You must not hold a payment account with any other bank in Republic of Lithuania. If you do hold a payment account with another bank in Republic of Lithuania, you must have received notice that the payment account will be closed
- You must meet any other eligibility criteria that may apply by law
What if my application for a Basic account is rejected?
After you submit your application for a Basic account, we’ll review it carefully. If you fail to meet the eligibility criteria, your application will be rejected and we’ll notify you via email. If you don’t agree with this decision, you can refer to our Complaints Policy.
Upgrades to other account plans
If you later move to any of the non-Basic account plans (if you upgrade to our Standard plan or any of our paid plans), you'll no longer have access to your Basic account or any of its specific features.
