Mortgage down payment guidelines

What does the new 10% down payment mean?

From 1 August 2026, Lithuanian regulations allow first-time buyers to pay a lower 10% down payment (previously 15%). This helps you buy your home much faster.

You qualify if you don't currently own and haven't owned any real estate in Lithuania in the last 5 years. For Joint applications, both buyers must meet this rule.

What are Revolut’s specific requirements?

To get a 10% down payment the property must be an A+ or A++ energy class, in good condition, and be in a good location. We also have additional internal checks we perform related to eligibility, so decision will be based on the individual situation assessment.

If any requirement is missed (e.g., lower property energy class, or a co-borrower who owned a home recently), your minimum down payment limit will default back to standard 15%.

What down payment do I need for a second home?

The standard down payment for a second home is 30%. However, it can be lowered to 15% if you have already repaid more than 50% of the initial loan amount on each of your previous mortgages.
