How do I add a recipient from a photo or file?

  • Go to Payments on the bottom menu
  • Tap the '+' symbol in the top-right corner
  • Tap the 'Camera' icon in the top-right corner, and follow the prompts on the screen

What files can I upload?

You can upload documents that contain payment details, such as invoices, bills, or account details. Make sure the document is clear and easy to read for optimal results.

This service isn't designed to handle sensitive data like debit or credit card details, health information, or protected characteristics. Do not use it for photos or files containing this data.

How are details extracted?

We use AI to identify and extract payment details from your photo or file. AI can occasionally misread information, so always review and confirm the recipient details before storing them or making a payment.

This feature is designed to extract standard payment details, such as names, account numbers, and transaction amounts. Do not upload files containing special-category personal data, such as health, political, or religious information.

Using this feature is completely voluntary, and you can always choose to input your numbers manually. If you choose to use the feature, you can always delete the attached file from your transaction summary as explained above.

Your data and control

When you upload a file, we store it securely and you can access it via your transaction history for 60 days. If you do not wish for your image to be processed in this manner, simply tap 'X' on the image when previewing the transaction.

Revolut undertakes quality control reviews on select data that is uploaded via this feature. This ensures that our model is operating as intended. If you do not want your image to be processed in this way, simply tap 'X' on the image when previewing the transaction.
