3D Secure payment authorisation

What is 3DS?

3D Secure (3DS) is an additional authorisation for online card payments that helps fight against fraud. Revolut Business has no control over which merchants require you to go through the 3DS process. If a merchant requests it, you'll receive a push notification asking you to confirm if you're authorising a payment. You will have up to 5 minutes to decide.

I didn’t receive the push notification

  • Launch the Revolut Business app and an authorisation prompt will automatically appear
  • Ensure that you’re logged into the Revolut Business mobile app
  • Make sure you have the Revolut Business mobile app installed (black icon) instead of the personal Revolut app (white icon)

Trusted Merchants

If 3DS didn't prompt and your payment got declined, you can add the merchant as trusted and retry the payment. To do so:

  1. Go to Settings by clicking on your profile on the top left of your 'Home' screen
  2. Choose 'Security & Privacy' and select 'Trusted Merchants'
  3. Select your declined card payment and then add to trusted
  4. Retry the payment
