Card payment fees and limits

Fees

We don't charge a fee for using your Revolut card to make purchases in your base currency. However, we may charge fees if you’re using your card to withdraw cash or spend in another currency. Read about spending in other currencies in this FAQ or check out our withdrawal limits and fees FAQ for more info on cash withdrawals.

Monthly spending limit

You can set a monthly limit that controls the amount that can be spent or withdrawn using a specific card. Transaction exceeding this limit will be declined.

How to set a card-specific limit

  1. Go to 'Home' at the bottom menu
  2. Tap the card icon in the top-right corner
  3. Choose a card
  4. Tap 'Settings'
  5. Tap 'Spending limit'
  6. Toggle the feature on and set a limit

Follow these same steps to change or deactivate the monthly spending limit on a card.

Weekly spending limits

Revolut sets rolling spending limits for some merchant categories, listed below. If you exceed these limits, you'll need to wait 7 days for the limit to reset.

Merchant spending limits

  • Non-financial institutions (including ordering foreign cash, traveller’s cheques, and money orders): £10,000 or equivalent per 7 days
  • Wire transfers: £25,000 or equivalent per 7 days
  • Betting and gambling: £25,000 or equivalent per 7 days

Contactless limit

Due to regulation, there is a limit on contactless payments with your physical card of €150. These limits don't apply when you use Apple or Google Pay or unattended transport terminals, such as tapping to pay for the London Tube.

Every time you use chip and pin, the limit will reset. To reset the limit yourself, go to your card's 'Settings' and tap 'Reset' next to contactless payments.
