How does a market order work?

A market order buys or sells crypto immediately at the best available price in the market. When you place a market order, Revolut X fills it straight away using current market prices.

The final price you pay or receive may differ slightly from what you saw when you created the order. This is normal in fast-moving markets.

You may use a market order when speed matters more than getting an exact price.

Attaching a TP/SL:

You can also attach a TP/SL to your market order before confirming it. This lets you set a Take Profit, Stop Loss, or both, so your position is automatically managed once your market order is filled. Tap '+ Add' next to TP/SL at the bottom of the order form to set this up.

Additional considerations:

  • Market orders execute instantly and can't be cancelled once created
  • Market orders are Immediate-or-Cancel (IoC) — if the order can't be filled immediately, it's automatically cancelled rather than left pending. This applies during unplanned maintenance or if there isn't enough liquidity to fill your order at the time of placement.
