Limits and deposit rules for Secured Credit Cards
Increase or decrease your limit
Your Secured Credit Card limit will be equal to your collateral deposit amount. If you want to increase or decrease your limit, you'll need to increase or decrease your collateral deposit amount to reach the new limit.
Remember that you can’t lower your credit limit below your current outstanding balance or the minimum limit ($250 MXN), or increase it above the maximum limit ($75,000 MXN).
Collection from security deposit in case of default
If you fail to fulfill your Secured Credit Card repayment, we may use your collateral deposit to repay your account balance. This will occur 90 days after your missed payment. You’ll remain responsible for any additional balance owed on the account.
Security deposit restrictions
Your credit card balance affects the amount of money you can withdraw from the security deposit. You can only withdraw the amount matching the available credit limit.
You can't fully withdraw your collateral deposit if you've missed the monthly repayment. Once your Secured Credit Card account payments are up to date, you'll be able to fully withdraw it.
The security deposit balance should have at least the minimum deposit amount of $250 MXN. For example, if you have a $1,000 credit limit with a $1,000 collateral deposit, and you have used $300 of this credit limit, you can only withdraw $450 — unless you fully pay off your outstanding balance.
