What is SPEI and how does it work?
Receive money and find your CLABE
SPEI is Mexico's real-time electronic payment system operated by Banco de México. To receive money, share your 18-digit CLABE with the sender. Funds usually arrive in your Revolut account within seconds.
To find your CLABE:
- Go to 'Home'
- Tap 'More' below your MXN balance
- Select 'Account details'
- Tap your CLABE to copy it directly to your clipboard
How to send money
- Go to 'Payments' on the bottom menu
- Tap the plus icon in the top right corner
- Select 'Bank recipient'
- Enter recipient's name and CLABE, then tap 'Continue'
- Review details and tap 'Send'
You will get a notification once your transfer is sent. You can check the transfer status anytime from your transaction history in the app.
Cancellations and incorrect details
SPEI transfers are instantaneous and cannot be canceled once sent. If your transfer is pending due to an additional security review and you prefer to stop it, contact us via chat immediately before it is executed.
How long does a SPEI transfer take?
Most transfers arrive in seconds. If yours is delayed:
- Check if they used your current CLABE
- Ask for the transfer key or receipt (CEP)
- Check the app for any pending verifications — deposits may be returned
- If it hasn't arrived after 10 minutes, chat with us. You'll need your CLABE key for us to support you
