Over-the-counter stocks
Over-the-counter (OTC) stocks aren’t listed on major exchanges, they’re traded directly between parties in a decentralized market. For example, a delisted company's stock may be traded OTC. These stocks are often from smaller companies that don’t meet formal exchange listing requirements.
OTC stocks can be riskier, more volatile, and illiquid (harder to convert into cash). The price displayed in-app is indicative only, and market orders may execute at a different price.
Trading OTC may be one of the reasons a stock can be restricted to selling only.
