National identifier required to open an investment account
What national identifier do I need to provide?
The national identifier you need to provide corresponds to your nationality. Where multiple types of national IDs are possible, they're ranked by priority. Try to provide the highest-priority national ID.
- For Mexico (MX): the required national identifier is your RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes)
- If you're a national of multiple countries: see the rules below for which national ID to provide
How do I provide this information?
Your RFC is collected during your Revolut Account onboarding. However, we might ask you to confirm if the RFC is correct or has changed. To provide this info, you will need to:
- Update your Revolut app to the latest version
- Head to 'Invest'
- Follow the instructions provided in the banner notification to submit your information
- If you don't see a banner notification, no further information is required from you at this time
What if I don't provide the national identifier?
- If you don’t provide the info by the deadline in the email, restrictions will apply
- Your account will be set to 'sell-only' mode, meaning you can close positions but not open new ones
- To remove restrictions, submit the required national identifier
If you don't have the requested national identifier, contact us via the in-app chat. Our support agents will be happy to help.
