Minimum order value
The minimum order value is $1 USD
Maximum order limit
- Buy orders: You can place an order up to a maximum of $100,000 USD for stocks and ETFs. For stocks, you can place an order for up to 50,000 shares if they're worth less than $100,000 USD in value
- For example, you can buy $100,000 USD worth of a stock and then immediately buy another $100,000 USD worth of the same stock. However, if the $100,000 USD is for less than 50,000 shares each time, you can't buy $101,000 USD worth of stock
- Sell orders: You can place sell orders up to a maximum of $1,500,000 USD, or up to 50,000 shares if they’re worth less than $1,500,000 USD in value at any one time
Closing a stock position
These limits can be bypassed in the case of closing out a position (selling 100% of a stock), up to a hard limit set by the broker of $1,500,000 USD or 50,000 shares. To learn more about closing a stock position, go to this FAQ.
